An employment agreement template is a document which brings together two parties- the employer and employee together in a work relationship. In this agreement, the “employer” hires the “employee” for their organization on the basis of some of the qualities that the employee has that can benefit the company. In return, the employee gets a monthly or weekly pay for serving for the organization. Now the main point of the agreement is to help the employee acknowledge the responsibilities they will need to take on if they want to work for the employer and other terms and conditions of their organization. The agreement is handed to the employee at the time of hiring. They are required to thoroughly read the rules, regulations and certain terms and conditions before signing the agreement letter. The employment agreement is effective the whole time that the employee is working under the organization. Hence, it is important to consider all the terms and conditions before signing the document.
Generally, the things included in an employment agreement are as follows:
• Date: the date on which the agreement or contract is being signed. This marks the start of the deal.
• Information About the Parties: the names of both the parties along with their contact information. The name of the organization in which the employee will be serving and its address.
• Services: the services that the employee is expected to be giving to the organization after the agreement is signed.
• Terms and Conditions: certain terms and conditions that all employees of the organization have to keep in mind while working. For example, work timing, punctuality of the workers and discipline. These include the employee responsibilities and the kind of behavior they are expected to show in the work place.
• Salary: the salary package that the employee will be offered on a monthly basis and on which date of the month they will get the salary.
• Confidential Information: the rules for getting access to the company’s confidential information and the consequences of disclosing that information to a third party. Which normally results in termination of the employee.
All the above-mentioned factors must be included in an employment agreement. However, addition or subtraction of certain terms is allowed as per the requirements of the specific organization. The agreement form is signed by the employee upon hiring and once signed, the employees are legally bound to work for the organization and obey their rules.
There are multiple benefits of applying for an employment agreement when hiring an employee. Some of them are:
1. It makes the employee aware of their respective responsibilities as well as the kind of behavior that is expected from them. At the same time, they are aware of the consequences of disobeying the rules.
2. This helps the organization to make sure that all of their rules and regulations as well as the terms and conditions have been spelled out for the employees. This helps to avoid future mishaps and misunderstandings in the work environment.
